Wedding Dance

Whether you choose to prepare for your first dance as a married couple or you want to prepare for social dancing at your (or your friend's) big day, preparing for a wedding is a great time to start dancing. We find that many couples start with the initial goal or wedding prep in mind and find dancing together to be so much more. Many couples choose to keep dancing after the wedding to keep a date night alive in their marriage. Or perhaps you need to dance with Dad or Mom and you don't know what to do. We can help with that too!

Brief History

With the creation, in the last 15 years of dance style reality shows, such as "Dancing with the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance," dancing at your wedding has taken on a whole new meaning. Many have become aware they are not well versed in dancing and apprehensive at the idea of being put on display in front of their friends and family. It is common now, to get some guidance when it comes to the first dance as a married couple. However, it doesn't just stop there. Many also seek help with Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dances as well as choreographed intros for the entire bridal party.

Any Style

Any style goes when it comes to your wedding. We always suggest to keep it as natural as possible, unless your goal is to be on purpose "over the top."

These days, any music goes, which means any dance style goes too! Make it personal and make it about you. Let's face it, weddings are not often really about the couple getting married, they tend to be about the family. We always suggest that your wedding dance is the one place that it can really be about you!

Where to Start?

Start with your song. If you don't have ideas, we can help! Once you have your song, that will help you determine what style dance to do. Consider the "picture" in your mind of what you imagine your first dance to look like. Do you picture a formal looking dance like the waltz in "Beauty and the Beast" or something more casual? If you are not sure, what would your friends or family expect to see you do? You will remember your first dance forever, good or bad! Make it a good one!

The same is true for any dancing at your wedding, whether it is a bridal party line dance, social dancing or parental dances.
